Take a peak at these stunning St George Island engagement photos! There’s something so special about engagement photos on St. George Island. Between the quiet beaches, soft white sand, and endless sunsets over Florida’s Forgotten Coast, it’s the perfect place to slow down and simply enjoy being together.
For this session, we spent the evening wandering barefoot along the beach, soaking in the golden light, and documenting all the little moments that make this season so exciting. If you’re dreaming of relaxed, natural engagement photos that feel true to your relationship, St. George Island is one of my favorite places in Florida to photograph couples. This is actually my brother in law and future SIL, so we had so much fun!
Looking for family photos instead? Take a look at my St. George Island Family Photographer guide for more information about beach sessions on the island.

One of my favorite things about photographing on St. George Island is how peaceful it feels. Unlike many of Florida’s larger beach destinations, you’ll find wide stretches of shoreline, natural dunes, sea oats, and beautiful sunsets without the crowds.
The island has such a relaxed atmosphere that couples can simply enjoy spending time together instead of worrying about busy beaches or people walking through their photos. Whether you’re planning an engagement session while visiting on vacation or you’re local to the Forgotten Coast, it’s hard to find a more beautiful backdrop.
One of the reasons I love photographing engagement sessions here is the variety of scenery within just a short walk.
Soft white sand, rolling dunes, and miles of shoreline make the beach the perfect setting for timeless engagement photos.
The sea oats add texture and create a beautiful Old Florida feel that makes your gallery unique to St. George Island.
As the sun begins to set, the light becomes soft, warm, and incredibly flattering. Sunset is easily my favorite time for engagement sessions here.
Choosing outfits that move naturally in the breeze makes such a difference during beach sessions.
I always recommend:
The goal is to wear something that feels comfortable and timeless so your photos still feel beautiful years from now.

Golden hour is hands-down the best time for engagement photos on St. George Island.
Scheduling your session about an hour before sunset gives us gorgeous golden light, dreamy skies, and cooler temperatures. It also means fewer people on the beach, creating a more relaxed experience from beginning to end.
Spring and fall are especially beautiful, but St. George Island offers gorgeous sunsets throughout the year.

One of my favorite parts of this engagement session was how effortless everything felt. There wasn’t a long list of poses or anything overly planned—we simply explored the beach together, laughed, watched the sunset, and documented the moments naturally as they happened.
Those authentic interactions are always my favorite photographs because they capture what this season of life actually felt like.
If you’re planning a proposal, engagement session, or simply want beautiful photos together while visiting Florida’s Forgotten Coast, I’d love to help you create a relaxed experience that feels natural from start to finish.
