One of my favorite things about being a photographer is getting to grow with couples and capture all of life’s biggest moments with them. With the Gehrkes, I’ve been blessed to do just that. I captured their Georgia destination wedding (which was insanely gorgeous, check it out here!), so now capturing their baby announcement is a true pinch-me moment! There’s truly nothing like getting to celebrate milestones like these.

What I Love Most About Alfred B Maclay Gardens State Park Photos

One of my favorite things about Alfred B Maclay Gardens State Park photos is how peaceful everything feels. Everywhere you look, there’s a stunning, nature-filled background, especially in the spring. During the Gehrkes’ session, the trees were full and flowers were blooming. It was the sweetest reminder of new beginnings. Their pregnancy announcement photos were effortless in a place as beautiful as the Maclay Gardens. 

Sweet Ideas for Pregnancy Announcement Photos

Kristin and Steven brought the most thoughtful props to their pregnancy announcement photos. It was the perfect touch to add a little variety and personality without taking away from the purpose of the photoshoot. Here’s what they did to inspire your pregnancy photos!  

Bring Baby Items

A white picnic blanket is a classic way to add visual interest during a photoshoot, but the Gehrkes brought a colorful baby blanket which was so fun and made the photos more memorable! They also brought a children’s book, which we captured them reading together and writing a sweet note inside. 

When they see these items in their home, they’ll be reminded of this season of anticipation as they wait for their beautiful baby. How sweet is that!?

Include an Intimate Gender Reveal

If a private gender reveal is more your style, let’s include it in your pregnancy announcement photos! Steven held a bouquet with the color of the gender behind his back, then brought it between them for the sweetest surprise! The pure shock and excitement on Kristin’s face as she saw the blue flowers was priceless. I’m so glad they have this moment forever documented. Baby Gehrke is a boy!
