I absolutely LOVE maternity sessions! As a maternity photographer, there’s something so special about capturing the excitement and anticipation of this incredible stage of life for my amazing couples! Recently, I had the honor of photographing Jacob and Sierra at Maclay Gardens State Park in Tallahassee, Florida. The lush gardens and picturesque setting seriously gave us the perfect backdrop. It was so memorable and gorgeous! In this blog, I’ll be sharing some of my top tips for a successful maternity session so you can make the most of this precious time in your lives and create lasting memories. Scheduling and Timing

One of my top tips for a successful maternity session is to schedule it around 28-34 weeks, depending on how you’re feeling and your availability. The goal is to document this special stage of your life, so don’t stress too much about how big your belly is or exactly how many weeks along you are. Just focus on celebrating this beautiful moment and capturing the joy of welcoming your little one!

Wear What Feels Like You

When it comes to choosing what to wear for your maternity session, the key is to wear what makes you feel GOOD. Comfort and confidence will shine through in your photos! Also, consider bringing multiple outfits. Having a variety of looks will add diversity to your gallery and capture different aspects of your style and personality. Whether it’s a flowing dress, a cozy sweater, or something more casual, having options can make your session even more fun and versatile.

You should always make it a point to document your maternity stage—it’s such a precious time in your life that deserves to be remembered.
